:up to 4 switchable configurations via remote switch. (Valet/Security, Racefuel, Pumpfuel, etc) What is different in the 16 bit ECU's that enables you to do this compared to using an 8 bit ECU with a 27C512 or larger chip in place of the stock 27C256, and using an external switch tied to the address lines to select what part of the chip it reads from? I know they often do this in homebrew circuits and I've seen kits for other cars which look to do the same thing. I'm wondering why it isn't done more often for our cars.
